Dad's the Word
At Dad’s the Word we provide a warm, welcoming and nurturing environment where the children thrive from feeling safe, secure and stimulated. Within this unique setting, surrounded by the beautiful countryside, we promote our natural environment and encourage the children to explore the world around them.
Childcare sessions and fees
From September 2026 we will be open for 50 weeks of the year, and closed over Christmas and New Year and Bank Holidays.
We provide childcare Monday to Thursday, 8:00am - 6:00pm, Fridays 8:00am-4:00pm.
We ask for children to be at Dad's the Word during our core hours of 9:00am-3:00pm.
From September 2026, we will stretch the government funded hours over 50 weeks which equates to 22.8 funded hours a week. Any additional hours required will be £7.95 per hour.
Breakfasts are £1 and dinners are £3.
We ask for a consumables charge of £1 per funded hour. You can find our consumables policy here.
Funding available - We currently offer - 24U, 15 hours government funding for 2 year olds, 9 month olds, and 15 & 30 hours government funding for 3 & 4 year olds.
The funding is stretched over 50 weeks.
Meal options
We strive to always make sure that our menus are inclusive to all the children in our setting, taking into account any allergies or dietary requirements, as well as offering a wide range of healthy and nutritious options, that the children will enjoy.
